Consider Doing a Sponsored or Private Event
Student Organizations Leadership and Engagement Consultation
UCLA welcomes private rentals of campus venues. However, you may want to form a registered organization to sponsor your event. Registered organizations are eligible for special venue rates and event management services. To learn about what is required to form a campus registered organization, contact the Student Organizations Leadership and Engagement (see contact information below).
UCLA Events Office Consultation
If you are interested in holding a private event on the UCLA campus that is not sponsored by a registered organization, then your first call should be to the UCLA Events Office. The Events Office is your single source for all your event planning needs on campus.
During your initial call to the Events Office, one of our senior event managers will assess the feasibility of holding your event on campus. Some of the factors the event manager will consider are:
Does your private event meet University guidelines?
- UCLA’s event guidelines are designed to assure that University business will not be disrupted and the University’s educational and public service mission will not be compromised. For example, wedding receptions can only be held in certain designated indoor locations and not in any outdoor locations.
Is there an appropriate venue available for your event?
- UCLA welcomes private events to use our facilities but our first priority is to accommodate our academic programs and internal University events. Therefore, certain rental restrictions apply and availability is limited. For example, classrooms are unavailable for weekday use and Pauley Pavilion has limited availability during the school year because of athletic activities.
If the Events Office event manager determines that your program can be facilitated, then the manager will continue to work with you or direct you to other campus event staff who will assist you every step of the way to having a successful event at UCLA.
